The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association is a religious organisation that seeks to present the true interpretation of Islam and advocates its peaceful dissemination. The Association is vigorously active in caring for the underprivileged and has opened numerous schools, colleges, dispensaries and hospitals in various countries where care for the sick and education is offered to all irrespective of their race, colour or creed and their ability to pay. Projects for providing clean water were started in Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Niger and Tanzania. In recent times, it has provided food aid and provisions along with medical assistance to the victims of wars and catastrophes all over the world including Bosnia, Turkey, Japan, Iran and Sierra Leone. Following the Tsunami and earthquakes in South Asia, it was prompt in providing assistance to the victims by establishing field hospitals and other means of help.

The Association's activities have been well received. Her Royal Highness Princess Anne awarded the Princes Royal Certificate of Thanks to the Association for its support to the Save the Children and in the foyer of the Great Ormond Street Hospital is a plaque acknowledging the contribution of the Association to its cause. Community's charitable work has been applauded by national and international leaders. Last year's walk was held in Birmingham and over £162,000 was raised and distributed to various charities.
